Welcome to my Travel and Photography Blog

You’ve made it just in time for my very first blog post. Welcome!! I’m quite excited to be here and hope you are too. This blog will be used for shameless self promotion, an online photo gallery, some great story telling, and a record of my travels.  As a newbie I hope you can bear with me as I work all the kinks out.

Just a little introduction

My name is Erica, nice to meet you. I have a background in visual communication, fine art photography, and travel and tourism. I couldn’t decide what I wanted to do in college. I love taking pictures and over the years I have gained quite a collection. On a whim I posted a handful of photos on Zazzle, and promptly forgot about them. A few months later I received an email, I made a sale. I was over the moon, and plastered more and more photos on Zazzle. Recently it occurred to me that maybe I should share more of my photography work with everyone, not just the random shoppers on one website. I love feedback and advice from photographers and admirers alike.

Travel

It has been a lifelong dream of mine to travel the world. Surely everyone has that dream.  While I have yet to make it off the North American Continent, I have been fortunate  to be able to tour much of the United States and some of Mexico. There is nothing I love more than packing the suitcases and hopping into the car with only a general idea of what is to come. My family and I are currently working on a goal of traveling to each state, only 26 states are left. Next week we will knock off 3 more states. I can’t wait.

What’s on the docket next week? My adventure into an abandoned Prison that I have given the name of Prison F. Real Creative huh?

  1. Congratulations on your new blog! It’s apparent you have a passion for photography. This quote from Richard Avedon sums things up for me: “If a day goes by without my doing something related to photography, it’s as though I’ve neglected something essential to my existence, as though I had forgotten to wake up,” Good Luck on your photography endeavors.
