While out and about on a lovely fall morning I happened to drive through the small town of Sherwood, Tennessee. The town is rather small, the population is less than one thousand, but has a hidden gem in their church. The Epiphany Mission Episcopal Church. A beautiful walkway surrounded by stone archways, a fireplace for the chilly summer nights, perhaps, and my favorite the little fountain that reflects the archways. The church refers to it as the Mission Garden, it was built in 1938 by the local mission boys. A tall wall on one side covered in an overgrowth of ivy gave the place a sort of secret garden feel to it. A little internet research led me to vintage photos of the Mission Garden from the 1940’s. Rather fascinating, I believe.
Next week some Urban exploration
